RECOMMENDED USESTimbakote Rustic Coating system is an ideal finish for all exterior bandsawn timber, textured fibre cement weatherboards and rough cast concrete.SURFACE PREPARATIONNew Timber should be clean and dry, free of any loose fibres. Sharp edges must be sanded, nail holes and minor defects to be filled with suitable quality timber filler.Exposed Timber (greater then one week), remove any contamination; loose timber fibres and treat with sugar soap solution Complete as per new timber. Previously oiled or stained timber: remove all poorly adhering coatings, sand and treat with a sugar soap solution . Complete as per new timber. Fibre Cement Weatherboards and Concrete Should be clean and surfaces dry, free from contaminants. APPLICATIONStir all coatings well before and during use with a flat stirrer.Apply 1 coat of Timbakote Rustic Basecoat with a good quality paintbrush, applicator pad, roller or spray. Allow up to 2 hours for Timbakote Rustic Basecoat to dry. Apply 2-3 coats of Timbakote Timber Pro topcoat to achieve the desired timber colour. Do not over spread, as achieving the correct film build is important to the life of semi-transparent coatings. Thinning is not generally recommended, as it can be detrimental to the coatings performance. The addition of 50mils of water per litre may be required in hot weather or when coating absorbent surfaces. COVERAGETimber Band Sawn 4 - 10 sqm per litreTimber Dressed 7 - 12 sqm per litre Fibre Cement Weatherboards 7 - 12 sqm per litre DRYING TIMESDepending on such factors as film thickness, ambient air temperatures, humidity levels and air circulation. The general dry times at 6-12 sq metres per Litre are: Touch dry 20 minutes - Recoat time 2 hrs - Curing time 7 days.CLEAN UPAll equipment can be cleaned up in water.SAFETYWear impervious gloves and wash paint deposits off skin with soap and water.Moderately irritating to eyes- wear splash proof goggles to protect eyes. Flush eyes immediately with plenty of water if coating splashes to the eyes occur. If discomfort persists seek medical attention. Keep out of children's reach. Ingestion; Give 1-3 cups of water and seek medical attention. DISPOSALLet residual coating dry by leaving the lid off the container. Dispose with refuse if permitted by local council.
